Dragonite originates from the J9 Dimension and is formed by the radiations of the three stars located in the heart of J9. When the crystals revolve around the stars they get radiated based on the star's energy. One is life energy, one is pure energy, and the other is erosion with a small area of corruption. These different radiations can form unique abilities that make up the dragon cycle. However, when crystals clash with each other or another substance, they can exchange energy and become something completely out of the dragon cycle known as clouded dragonite. This results in nearly any imaginable powers being created over time, even if it takes hundreds of years.

All dragonite crystals glow and will reveal their powers one way or the other after being exposed to an area for a certain time. They will also instantly show their ability in a small blast if forcefully fractured such as throwing them. Crystals can vary in temperature. Because dragonite contains portions of Tequilian magic, the supernatural abilities that come from them can communicate with one another making dragonite a very creative choice of power for team projects and battles. It can even be, in a way, coded to create very specific results or respond to certain actions. Altho, one would need to understand how Tequilian magic, dragonite magic, and technology work to even get close to achieving that.

When a dragonite crystal enters the bloodstream of a creature, it starts breaking and then feeding off the host's energy as well as its own to regenerate itself over and over again along the host's veins. This process is called dragonization (or crystallization) and it is the process of becoming a dragonight. Based on the age and power level of the crystal, this process can last weeks to years. If the host is physically active, it will speed up the process as it relies on the heartbeat to break the crystal fragments. Once very tiny crystals are along the walls of the host's veins, the host can use their power. This process is unique for everyone and few can even trigger their power despite not yet being dragonized. It's a rare one-time thing for crystals with a higher power level.

Once the host is a full dragonight, they can use their abilities from any part of their body so long there are veins in it. The easiest way for a dragonight to use their ability is by using their hands or feet to direct their outcome. Second up would be their elbows and knees as they have a lot of control over these body parts. When a dragonight uses their ability, their crystals glow brighter than when they are idle but it's hardly visible due to the skin's thickness. The easiest way to know when a dragonight is using their ability is to look at them in their eyes as this is where the glow will be visible the most. In total darkness, based on the dragonight’s skin’s thickness, tone, and crystal color, one may see a small glow when active and a faint one when idle. A dragonight can control their power levels by breathing and keeping a calm heartbeat. A panicking dragonight will appear brighter due to their crystals receiving more power than normal. When a dragonight reaches a heartbeat of 140-180 bpm (beats per minute) their crystals will overcharge and start glowing bright. This is when they are at their most powerful. For some, they can feel the crystal’s heat giving off a burning sensation. If a dragonight is in a fearful situation, their heartbeat will increase drastically giving off the signal that they are in danger and their crystals will respond giving them maximum power, similar to what adrenaline does to a body. In the end, they will be temporarily weakened while their crystals cool down.

A dragonight also has multiple "selfs" or states. These states include their original physical form, a second-self, and their spiritual essence. Some dragonights, such as those with metamorphosis abilities, even have a fourth state which enables them to safely morph without directly affecting their original form. In such instances, any damage taken during the morph will shield their physical state temporarily. Second-self is a matter transmutation and energy transfusion reaction that the crystals are capable of doing. In such a sense, a dragonight can "swap inventories" in a split second making it a perfect option to store additional needed supplies such as armor or tools. It has it's limitations but is most commonly used that way. Lastly, the dragonight’s spiritual essence is powered by the crystals. When a dragonight dies, they forcefully becomes a ghost and remains trapped between worlds for as long as their crystals remain active. Their only way out is to seek a dragonight or other supernatural being who has the ability to revive a dragonite from their essence using their crystals at the original location. However, this is a one-time thing only. Their spiritual state will become their new physical state meaning they won’t get another chance at revival if they die again. During their spiritual state, their crystals are still connected to them no matter how far they are and they can perfectly hear the surroundings of their crystals.
