Lance McDaniels, also known as Steelgrade, is a 23-year-old Hawaiian actor and veteran who specializes in mathematics and fast knowledge processing. At
Team Dragonight, he is a logicist who manages the team's inventory and financial stability, ensuring supplies are always in stock and purchasing replacements when necessary. Lance possesses
self-molecular manipulation abilities from a
cyrea crystal, a clouded dragonite. Unlike his brother,
Ralph McDaniels, his crystal was modified by a rapid and forceful contact with his metal watch. Due to the nature of the dragonite crystal and the contacted metal, his metamorphic powers were limited to steel rather than cells. While this gives him a nearly invincible body at will, his morphs are severely limited by the amount of energy required to operate under such heavy weight. Of course, that all depends on how thick-walled his morphs get.
Lance is a very conservative and mannerful person with a respected reputation among his acquaintances. He dresses very classy with a metal cane and prefers retro stuff. Lance is also a human calculator, able to solve major problems quickly, both mathematically and logically in the real world. One of his strong points is remaining calm in rising situations, regardless of how nerve-wracking they are meant to be. Because of
Ralph McDaniels' antics, Lance is often embarrassed to be related to him.
Lance became a full-time actor at Lowline Cinema for one of their film series, "Cyborg" after retiring from the army a few years back. He left after a leg injury during an explosion in battle against the plozonies, which made him unable to further fight and required him to use a cane. His cane features a retractable blade at the bottom allowing him to use his self-molecular magnetizing ability for fast and ranged control over his weapon.
